Flowers to pick or sip?

“Earth laughs in flowers.” ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

We’ll take nature hikes and learn about the uses of the plants we see – both by the animals that live here, as well as what the Native Americans have used them for (some can even be put in salads or make a cup of tea). We’ll also collect plants (pick flowers), put them in plant presses and mount them (flatten ‘em, dry ‘em and put them in a scrapbook) for you to take home with you.

Plants are a vital and fascinating part of any ecosystem, and understanding them will go a long way to helping you understand the wild world around you.
